President Trump’s grand appearance before the United Nations General Assembly did not go as planned. His motorcade held up others, his teleprompter did not work, and he therefore launched into a tirade four times longer than the time allowed. In this embarrassing rant where he failed to even mention Putin, the leader of the Free World condemned Europe, saying “your countries are all going to hell”. He also criticized the UN, mentioning the teleprompter and another incident that really irked him, mainly because it made him look foolish.

This incident may have been more than it appeared. Upon entering the building, no sooner than he stepped on the escalator, it abruptly stopped. Trump looked around like he had farted, but Melania immediately began hiking up the stalled stairs and Trump trudged behind. The UN blamed both incidents on the Trump team — saying they didn’t set up the teleprompter properly due to their lateness, and that the escalator stopped because the Trump videographer stepped back on it at the top, automatically triggering the safety stop mechanism.

However, these events were such an offense to his majesty that the White House immediately said they were nothing less than “triple sabotage”, and that whomever was responsible should be fired and investigated.

But it was all a strange mirror-image of another escalator ride he took with his current wife. On June 16, 2015, Donald Trump fatefully descended the escalator in Trump Tower to declare his candidacy for the presidency. This new escalator incident comes while Trump appears at the peak of his power, while he’s turning the White House into a vulgar version of Versailles, his toadies are openly urging him to go for a third term, his critics fear cancellation or worse and the courts meekly bend to his will in sheer terror. And still the tarriffs are yet to wreak havoc on the economy, food prices skyrocket as the harvest rots on the ground, and people tremble at his every word. Trump’s Camelot’s days may already be numbered.

So perhaps there is a higher meaning to all this. Many people have yearned for a sign that there could be an eventual end to this madness, and personally, I’ll take whatever I can get. May God save us all from this criminal madman.
