Poland shot down a number of Russian drones that had violated its airspace during a mass assault on Ukraine which it deemed threatening. President Zelensky of Ukraine said that of the 415 drones aimed at Ukraine at least 8 went over the Polish border, although other sources counted 19 drones. He added that this proves that Western claims that Russia would not attack NATO are nonsense, and demanded a strong response.

There has been no official reply from Russia yet. However, NATO’s Secretary General released a statement condemning the incident as “absolutely reckless” but said it was not yet known if the incursion into NATO territory was deliberate. But in a late night post on his platform, President Trump commented, “Here we go.”
